ARTIST STAMENT My work is about trying to understand the concepts of the real, the imaginary and the mysterious, I use of the color “Black” is striking in its abundance. Most of my drawings and prints use no other color, and I claims that black is the shade of my past, fascination of my present, and my soul towards crammed darkness where it merges with rampage of pain and reapers in the screams of forms in my works.
Hurt and internal wounds shriek through dark forceful strokes. My drawings exude pain and pathos. They scream for a release through the hatches, in vigorous potency. The bitterness and the war inside seek a counter response of tenderness and compassion within the self.
I elevates my subject matter from the personal to the universal by referring to some of the incidents and it’s revolves around human conflict with our surroundings.
My recent works mock the human’s animality in the current day socio-political conditions of the country (earth) own land, where violence became the key player in the process of forming, constructing new geographies and identities. My goal is to create works of art that resonate with and reflect the beauty and chaos of the world. As well as by my personal experiences and emotions. Transforming these animal subjects into human psychological portraits.
The techniques which I engaged including the drawings, dry point prints have certainly succored the black of my sketchy mental throbs. I choose drawing, printmaking as a mediums using to its capacity to delineate somber, deep tresses aim for my work. I work in various media including drawing, printmaking and painting.
